What to see this weekend: The Rainmaker, and Our Town

The Rainmaker, Pacific Theatre, Robert Salvador, Pippa Johnstone

Pippa Johnstone and Robert Salvador get sweet and sexy in The Rainmaker

The best shows running this weekend are both American classics: The Rainmaker and Our Town.

The Rainmaker‘s script is odd: naive and sophisticated at once. It’s the poetry that makes that combo work—that and Pacific Theatre’s elegant, warmhearted production.

The strong cast includes solid work from recognizable actors, such as John Voth and Andrew Wheeler, as well as from newcomers such as Pippa Johnstone and Ryan Scramstad.

The handsome production, directed by Ron Reed, plays at Pacific Theatre until November 10.

Tonight (Saturday, October 18) is your last chance to catch Osimous Theatre’s lovely production of Our Town—if you can still get tickets.

In an earlier post about this weekend, I forgot that Our Town was still playing. Sorry! Sheesh.
